"Fighting for Life," a 2008 documentary film about military medicine with a focus on the Uniformed Service University of the Heath Sciences, has been selected to receive one of this year's American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons MORE Awards in the Broadcast Journalism, National Television category.
Produced by Academy Award-winning filmmaker Terry Sanders, “Fighting for Life” examines the honorable work of MHS doctors, nurses, medics and corpsmen – from the front lines in Iraq to stateside healing environments to the students at USU who will become some of tomorrow’s best military physicians.
The American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons MORE Awards honor media efforts that further public understanding of musculoskeletal health-related issues.
This year’s recipients will receive their awards at a ceremony in Washington, D.C., held in conjunction with the Academy's National Orthopaedic Leadership Conference.
