2011 Director’s Community Leadership Awards

The Jacksonville Division is pleased to honor Ms. Valerie Stanley, the director of First Coast Child Protection Team (CPT), for her notable service, leadership, and significant contributions to investigations of crimes against children in Northeast Florida.

Over the past three years, representatives of Jacksonville’s cyber squad have worked with Ms. Stanley while investigating crimes against children. Ms. Stanley and members of CPT have been invaluable in helping law enforcement develop their investigations through interviews of child victims.

In one investigation, agents executed a search warrant at the residence of a suspected pedophile. A notebook was found in which the subject described sexual encounters with three neighborhood boys. Investigators phoned Ms. Stanley, and she immediately arranged for a forensic interview of the children. That same afternoon, all three boys had been interviewed by CPT child forensic specialists, and investigators determined that the subject’s writings were just fantasies.

The citizens and child victims of Northeast Florida are the beneficiaries of the integrity, determination, and selflessness demonstrated by Ms. Stanley.
